- Change how file Read and write detect if a context has been passed in (Thanks NightThunder)

- Implement workaround for http://code.google.com/p/dokan/issues/detail?id=209 as manifest does not work for share access

- Add security impersonation to all the API's
- Add some speed up with some of the functions
- Completely re-write the security API's And test under various account types (SACL_### now works :-)

Alpha 3

- PI - Large file numbers are slow to display
- PI - Notepad Save (over share) Denied in 0.6.0 and Win7 x64
- Backup mode has trouble allocating space when all the space is at one end
- Test Usage of "Hot Swap" drives
- Open a file with notepad across a share causes a notepad to report "Incorrect function"
- Obey GNU license requirements
- XP Testing - Network access - Found Problems
- Win7 x64 Testing - Network Access - Found Problems
- Find the System.exe ID to prevent impersonation of it. - This is to workaround the impersonation of a user coming over the share access

Alpha 4

- Switch to using for the GetFileInformationByHandle() for speed (Probably) and direct return of upto date information from the native file system.
- Fix the "Left over" text for the backup in the space display.
- Re-focused the need for security on the GetFileInformation and SetFile operations.
- Add code to inform explorer (And other Apps via OS) that things have changed in the mounted drive SHChangeNotify API.
- Renaming a file in a Subdirectory causes file to be moved to root (Re-Focused Release) and "http://code.google.com/p/dokan/issues/detail?id=238"

Alpha5

- Detect Drive Format of "FAT" and remove from the selection list
- Creating a directory - when that dir name already exists - can make the directory appear twice in explorer
- Rename directory (Folder mode) will not rename all sources of that directory (via a share)
- PureSync does not work due to issues with the dokan Driver
- In XP, the System Volume Information is explorable
- On initial install, New Drive N shows in Management App
- Default startup value needs to be set to Min value
- Tested and shown to be working: Sharing on restart is broken in Win 7x32 Ultimate
- The License warning in the installer needs to change
- Messages sent to Application Tray fail for some users and on some OS's
- Add new warning to the share dialog, indicating that shares my not work.
- Fix the "Features" introduced by the last lot of .Net to Win32 API replacements.
- Sort out the firing of the ShellNotify for file updates for both source and mounted names.

- Multiple mounted points from the same drive will increase reported drive space
- The "Re-Focused" release (Alpha4) does not allow files to be edited over a share - solved by Possibly solved the x64 Sharing Issue
- Free space form should store it's layout
- On Windows Server 2003, Dokan 0.6.0 Version is not detected Correctly
- Tested and unable reproduce Appears to be a 4GB File Limit over a share
- Tested and closed Teracopy 2.2 does not copy from Liquesce shares
- tested and closed VLC cannot access File Over Dokan Hosted Share
- The TrayHelper GPF's when trying to start a service that is already started

And as always - Fix / investigate some issues

- Change the space usage to be a table with scroll-bars to give better layout options (And sorting etc.)

Closed Issue: The installer does not report success or failure.. [7107]

The installer does not report success or failure, So if it has rolled back (Due to some problem like the admin rights etc) there is no indication to the user that something may have succeeded or failed !

Closed Issue: VLC cannot access File Over Dokan Hosted Share [7812]

2008 R2 Host (Mixture of clients)

I'm getting the following error when trying to play any media using VLC:
( Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file:///X:/TV%20Shows/Stargate%20Universe/Stargate.Universe.S02E10.720p.HDTV.x264-CTU.mkv'. Check the log for details. )
I checked for log file but I can find it, I even googled where VLC stores the log files but I still can't find one.
Try the same file with Media Player Classic and everything works.
Also I tried playing the same file with VLC again but this time navigated to a regular network share not the Liquesce Mounted Drive, and the file plays fine.
Seems to be an issue with VLC not being able to properly access the files when they are shared from a Liquesce Mounted Drive.
Comments:

Tested with VLC 1.1.8 on Win 7 x64 Client, via a share hosted by Win2k8 R2
Played and jumped around inside an 11 GB mkv file

Closed Issue: Teracopy 2.2 does not copy from Liquesce shares [7841]

TC 2.12 worked properly
The newer versions 2.2 & 2.2b2 (Not tested 2.2b3 yet!) does not copy from shares in either XP or win 7 x32
Seems to get a file Size of -1 ?? in it's window

Tested with Teracopy 2.27, Win 2k8 R2 as the server, Win 7 x64 as the client
And this now works.

1) Can you state what version you are using please (As you stated that you tried to upgrade - from what to to which please)
2) Have you disabled SMB 2 on the server side ?

3) can you access the file > 4GB via a normal windows share

4) what client is being used ?

With all that I can then attempt to recreate, and then test.

- Win 7 x64 as client and using SPlayer as a movie viewer.. Just played a 11;6 mkv file, and then did some jumping around to perform searching and stepping, and it's all okay.
- Then reset the settings to Zero threads (Dokan Automatic) and thread level to Warn, and the same results with the stepping through the file.
- Did not disable SMB on the Win2k8 machine, as I was only performing a read test.

- So please add the service log file to this issue, and also state at what time the failed read would have happened.

The thing is, I have installed Dokan 0.6.0. This is it's info:

Thanks for the data.
Ok.. This will be fixed in the latest code base installer

To workaround this for the existing installers follow these instructions
1 - goto the following location : C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers
2 - rename dokan.sys to dokan.sys.old
3 - create another file that is between 91903 - 95744 bytes (exclusive) [i.e. a notepad doc]
4 - copy it to the above location and name it dokan.sys
5 - Install the Liquesce install (dated before this post date).
6 - After install undo steps 4 & 2
7 - Reboot
